The first competitive reserve game at Northwood Park this season got off to a frantic start when after just 90 seconds Andy Murphy was lucky only to receive a yellow card after clattering into the Met Police keeper.

The first attempt on goal came on 10 minutes, when a long range effort from Max Moore was pushed away for a corner. This was the start of an onslaught on the Police defence as Ryan Lee hit the crossbar a few minutes later. The Police's only effort in the first half was in the 24th minute when Moore cleared an effort off the line.

Ryan Lee, who put in a man of the match performance, opened up the scoring on 28 minutes when he neatly lobbed the keeper from fully 25 yards. After further attacks on the Police, Woods increased the lead when Lee again netted, this time with a great free kick taken wide on the left. His shot sailed over the goalie into the far side of the net, giving the Woods a 2-0 interval lead.

The second half was riddled with bookings, 4 to 2 in favour of Met Police, as they seemed to lose the plot and Northwood capitalised on this by scoring three more without reply, although the Police did have two efforts rebound from the crossbar. Lee completed his hat-trick on 52 minutes when he slotted home after good work from Nickai Fearon.

On 61 minutes Lee became provider when he put sub Doug Kisuule through to score number four. On 80 minutes another sub, Daryl Campbell-Grimshaw, fired home number five from 30 yards. All five goals were of top quality, and the only down side to a very good match was the late sending off for two yellow cards of an impressive Andy Iwediuno.
